Sharps New Model 1863 .52 Caliber Percussion Breech Loading Carbine, #95316. All metal with deep dark age patina, untouched/ uncleaned with some scattered patches of very light pitting most notably on the butt plate. The top portion of the guide for the pellet primer mechanism is missing, else mechanically fine, with really excellent bore. There is also a crack with no loss on the sling bar, retains the original ring and missing the small locking button on the lever catch. Butt stock excellent with nice dark patina. The original forestock has a 6" crack on the underside with a half inch chip where it joins the frame. Obviously very old and easily repaired. Still a nice representative example of the most heavily used of all the Civil War breech loading carbines.Auction Info
