Custom Remington Arms Co. M1894/1900 12 Gauge Double Barrel Shotgun. 26" steel barrels, with ventilated rib and ivory bead sights, which bear the number 380337, which also appears on the frame, the trigger guard and the forestock.. Barrels also bear the number 4189 which is also on the frame and the forestock. The number 4237 is on the barrel lug and the numbers 89 and 0337 also appear in the frame recess. Barrels retain 98% of the original blue with mint bores. Frame, which retains 50% of the original color, marked Remington Arms Co. on both sides, and bears the 1894 patent dates on the inside flat. The stocks are custom work of the absolute finest quality in pristine condition. Exquisitely checkered beaver tail forend mint, with high gloss sheen. Butt stock, with finely checkered wrist, fabricated of the finest, highly figured American walnut, with the same high gloss sheen. Skeleton type butt plate with burnished steel plates at toe and heel, the balance finely checkered wood. Butt stock also mint. Oddly there is a spot of heavy surface rust on the rear extension of the trigger guard and a tiny spot on the tang, both of which would clean nicely.
