Description

Group of Three Civil War Artillery Projectiles. Group includes: (1) CS 4.52 inch 12 pounder Bormann fuzed spherical shell. Nice crude mould seam distinctly visible on body. Two minor areas of light surface pitting, rest of the shell with a nice smooth surface. Dark olive patina. Comes with an original Confederate Bormann fuze, not original to this shell but great for display with it. Nice example with several numbers and raised lines visible. Punched at four second mark. No underplug; (2) CS 4.52 inch 12 pounder spherical shell with a Confederate copper time fuze adaptor. Nice crude mould seam visible on body. Nice smooth surface, no rust or pitting. Projectile painted black. Very nice fuze adaptor; (3) CSA 4.52 inch 12 pounder case shot lead side loader spherical shell. The Confederate time fuze adaptor is not original to this projectile but screws in about half way. The lead case shot balls and matrix are intact and clearly visible. Nice smooth surface with traces of original black paint. Minor ding to the side loader plug. Nice Confederate group.
