Description

Superb Württemberg Uhlan Regiment Number 20 Reserve Officer Tschapka. A beautiful Uhlan tschapka in parade configuration with a lacquered black leather skull cap and mortar board, fiber front visor and silver trim. The helmet is size marked 59½ in ink on the inside of the body. The frosted silver officer's front plate with gold reserve cross and motto "Furchtlos und Trew" displays fantastic detail and is mounted to the helmet body with two threaded posts and retaining nuts and washers. There are no additional holes in the front of the helmet body. The brass chin scales are complete and in excellent condition. A two-piece Reichs cockade is mounted on the right side and the proper Württemberg officers' feldzeichen, which takes the place of the left cockade, is attached to the mortar board. The helmet is complete with yellow parade rabatte trimmed in silver and red-flecked brocade. A black/white/red horsehair parade plume is attached to the mortar board. The officers' leather and silk lining appears virtually unworn. The tschapka has some trivial crazing to the leather body but otherwise it is in exceptional condition, displaying little but storage wear.
