Description
English Superposed Dbl Bbl F/L Pistol C. 1790. Superb quality and condition. 7¾" overall with 2 7/8" .45 caliber screw barrels, grooved at the muzzle to facilitate removal. Barrels retain most of the original blue finish, balance fading to smooth even dark patina. Barrels with finely engraved decoration near the muzzle. Frame and breech, which exhibits British proofs, bright and clean, about mint. Top barrel and breech with corresponding #1, lower barrel and breech un-numbered. All edges decorated with line engraving, maker on the frame "P. Bond/ London". Trigger guard with floral engraving. Mechanically perfect including the sliding safety and tap action lever. Dark wood grips with a few tiny dents, else perfect. Exceptional example of this desirable form.Auction Info
