Description
Apollo Command Module Environmental Control System Hardware: Five Water-Glycol Temperature Sensors, AiResearch Part 820980 (Contract NAS-9-150). Five small sensors, 0.75" in diameter, all mounted in various configurations into three assemblies. All have metal ID plates with four bearing the part number "820980-4-1" and the other "820980-2-2". Included are several pages copied from a 1973 abstract prepared by AiResearch for the NASA MSC titled "Environmental Control System Transducer Development Study" regarding these sensors. The purpose as stated: "The water-glycol temperature sensor is used to sense the temperature of water-glycol coolant and exhibits a change in resistance in accordance with change in temperature. These units consist of a metal housing containing two or more thermistor probes, one of which is in operation and the rest of which are in standby redundancy." Very fine.Auction Info
