Description
Pair of Model 1860 Cavalry Sabers. Including: (1) An example manufactured by C. Roby, W. Chelmsford, Mass., with an 1865 blade date and "A.G.M." inspector's mark. The blade has only modest age darkening, the grip is cracked but the wire wrap remains intact, and the scabbard is well-worn, still it remains a solid example that shows actual use. (2) An Ames Manufacturing Company example with 1865 blade date and "L.H.K." inspector's mark. The blade has darkened with age, the hilt is bent and the scabbard is worn. All things considered a nice group perfect for display.Auction Info
