Description

Very Scarce American Infantry Officer's Gorget, Circa 1830. 5" across the top, 1 3/8" deep. Appears to be fabricated of silver over brass and retaining 98% of the original silver. Small hole at each side for suspension. The separately affixed 1 1/2" circular insignia in the center with spread wing eagle inside a wreath of oak leaves and acorns. Superb example of this rare piece of American insignia for both quality and condition. From the estate of Houston collector Brent Burg.
