Description

Nice, Untouched, Civil War US Cavalry Officer's Vest. Dark blue wool front with two pockets lined with brown polished cotton. 1 1/8" standup collar. Nine button front with all original eagle A buttons with period Scovill backmark. Just some scattered minor mothing, most notable at the two bottom corners. Interesting detail with the back of the vest along the bottom edge lined with leather. Otherwise light brown polished cotton lining with two large inside pockets. Exterior of the belted back with darker polished cotton and gilt brass buckle dated 1860. Lining etc. about perfect. Nice honest, untouched example and a great addition to a period Cavalry Officer's frock coat.
