Description

EGYPT. Middle Kingdom (circa 2050-1650 BCE). Large wooden head rest. Carved in three sections, the elegant headrest is 3.5 inches (8 cm) tall and the curved head support is 7 inches (17 cm) across. Checking on the headrest itself and the central post. Cf. Russmann, Edna R. 2001 Eternal Egypt: Masterworks of Ancient Art from the British Museum.
