Description

NASA Tested O-Ring Segment from August 18, 1988. A 2" segment of an O-ring that was taken from a successful test in August 1988 as part of the research to return the Space Shuttle program to flight after Challenger tragedy. It was concluded during the contentious Rogers Commission that gas blowing past the O-rings was the cause of the failure. The segment is encased in a 3" diameter informational acrylic display. A rarely offered artifact from a problematic time in NASA's history. Excellent.
