Description

Apollo 1: NASA Report of Apollo 204 Review Board Book. "To the Administrator National Aeronautics and Space Administration" as submitted on April 5, 1967. An 8" x 10.5" comb-bound book of nearly 200 pages, with illustrations (many in color) and pull-out charts. As stated in the Preface, the board was tasked to find out what caused this tragic accident: "The Nation's space program requires that man and machine achieve the highest capability to pursue the exploration of space. Three gallant men lost their lives in line of duty during the development of that capability. The Apollo 204 Review Board was charged with the responsibility of reviewing the circumstances surrounding the accident, reporting its findings relating to the cause of the accident, and formulating recommendations so that inherent hazards are reduced to a minimum." This book is an original copy of the report of that committee. An important addition to any space history collection. Light wear, fine.
