Description

Skylab: Skylab Rescue Mission Framed Display Featuring Vance Brand and Don Lind Signed Mission Insignia Photo, SL-R and Skylab Patches, and Concept Photo. Very intriguing collection of items related to the Skylab Rescue Mission that was created as a contingency plan in the event that the Skylab crew needed to be rescued. The plan included a modified Apollo Command Module designed to launch with two crew members and retrieve the three man crew aboard Skylab. Display features a 7" x 7" (sight size) color photo of the mission patch signed in black inks: "Vance Brand", and "Don Lind"; two 4" x 4" embroidered patches for both the SL-R and Skylab; as well as a 9.5" x 6.5" concept photo of the modified capsule. All items have been beautifully double matted and framed with museum glass to an overall 18" x 32" with an informational metal plate at bottom. Great display item from a mission that very thankfully was never required to launch. Excellent.
