Skylab III (SL-4) Flown Garland Mechanical Pencil, Originally from Mission Commander Jerry Carr's Personal Collection. A 5" long, slim, chrome-colored mechanical pencil, Garland Model 35-P, manufactured by Lew Manufacturing Co. of Coventry, Rhode Island. The Part Number "SEB12100081-301" and the Serial Number "1232" are both engraved into the barrel. Added at the top is a piece of Velcro to facilitate attachment and storage inside the spacecraft. This is the same model pencil used by many of the Apollo missions. This particular pencil flew nearly thirty-three million miles in earth orbit during the eighty-four day mission, November 16, 1973-February 8, 1974. Very fine.
