Fine Unmarked English Flintlock Traveling Pistol c. 1820. .64 caliber, 8 1/2-inch unmarked damascened octagonal barrel with steel under-rib. Two gold-inlaid and one dentate band at breech. Gold-inlaid touch hole bushing. Unmarked blued flintlock mechanism with sliding safety. Large engraved circular steel triggerguard and furniture. Engraved screws. Varnished walnut stock with checkered grips. Silver-plated fore-end cap. Hardwood ramrod with steel tip. Condition: Very good, metal showing light age wear and patina. Traces of blue finish remaining on lock mechanism. No flint present. Wood refinished, showing small crack in front of lock, wear and bruises. Action good.
