Description

Charlie Duke Signed Large Apollo 16 Lunar Surface Color Photo with Handwritten Mission Summary. A beautiful 20" x 16" silk-finish photo on Kodak Endura paper of the LM Orion, John Young, the Lunar Roving Vehicle, and the planted American flag at the Apollo 16 lunar landing site. The actual image size is 20" x 9.75". Duke has signed in the wide bottom margin: "Apollo 16 spent more than 20 hours exploring the/ moon. This involved emplacement and activation/ of scientific equipment and experiments, the/ collection of nearly 213 pounds of rock and soil/ samples, and the evaluation and use of Rover-2/ (our Lunar car) over the roughest and blockiest/ surface yet encountered on the moon./ Charlie Duke/ Apollo 16 LMP". Quite an impressive display piece with a detailed mission summary handwritten by Duke. A tiny smear on the "h" of his name. Excellent.
