from His Personal Collection, with Certificate of Authenticity.
Encounter with Tiber is a speculative fiction novel
co-written by Buzz Aldrin and John Barnes, exploring human's first
contact with an alien civilization. Through an engaging narrative,
the book delves into themes of space exploration, ancient alien
contact, and the boundless possibilities of the cosmos, reflecting
Aldrin's passion for space and his vision for humanity's future in
it. To support the release of the book, Aldrin toured Planet
Hollywood locations across the country, signing books for fans and
interacting with the local press. Included in this lot are all
these items.Planet Hollywood San Antonio Jacket: An 80% wool "letter" jacket with red body and black leather sleeves. Small restaurant logo on left breast; large logo on back. Includes nylon hanging bag with NASA sticker attached. This jacket became a favorite of his, especially at Christmas time.
Press Book: Includes tour itinerary and reprints of articles as published in the local press. One article shows two photos of Aldrin wearing the above jacket and the tie below.
Tie: A Ralph Marlin silk tie with a Star Wars theme. Includes a zipped tie traveling case.
Signed Book: The FlatSigned edition of Encounter with Tiber is a special release by FlatSigned Press that is leather-bound and signed by Buzz Aldrin on an included numbered (#169/1500) signature page. Features a dark blue leather cover, gold text, and gold-tipped page edges. Very collectible.
Unsigned Book: (New York: Warner Books, 1996) First edition, first printing. Hardbound in a dust jacket, octavo, 560 pages, illustrated.
A very cool group of items that would be perfect for one of our San Antonio bidders. All very fine or better.
