Description

Saturn IB: Vintage Rocket Model with Cutaway Window, Featuring a Lunar Module Prototype. An incredibly impressive large-scale representation on the Saturn IB. Standing an overall 60" tall when sitting upon 6" x 6" x 6" clear plastic base, this is one of the more impressive models we have had the privilege to offer. This example features incredible attention to detail, from the escape tower, to independent Service and Command modules. One of the more unique features of this example is a 4.5" tall cutaway clear plastic window in the Spacecraft LEM Adapter section that contains an early representation of the Lunar Module. While this rocket was originally intended to test the full Apollo spacecraft used on lunar landing missions, the increasing weight of both the CSM and LM led to the development and use of the Saturn V. Model has age related wear and loss, including damage to the escape tower. One rocket nozzle at base has been detached, but is present. The model is stabilized for display with an approximatley 40" tall metal stand that connects near the base of the LEM Adapter section. An exceptional opportunity for advanced model collectors. Very good.
