Removed from Odyssey

Apollo 13 Flown Heat Shield Ablative Plug #28 in Acrylic Display, Directly from the Personal Collection of Fred Haise, with Signed Letter of Authenticity. A 2.75" x 2.75" acrylic cylinder containing a threaded plug from the aft heat shield with metal cap and RTV O-ring intact. Engraved on the bottom is "APOLLO 13/ APRIL 11-17, 1970." The plug was removed from the Command Module Odyssey after its return to Earth following the treacherous flight. The number "28" is etched onto the metal cap signifying which of the 59 bolts that attaches the heatshield to the spacecraft it covered. These displays are coveted among collectors, even more so coming from a crewmember of the mission they flew on. Light surface scratches, overall very fine.
