Description
Confederate States Printed Pass Issued to Brigadier General Daniel Ruggles and Family. One partly printed page, 7.25" x 3.5"; Provost Marshal's Office, Augusta, Georgia; April 15, 1864. Pass no. 4824 grants permission to the General and his family to Richmond, Virginia "upon honor no to communicate in writing, or verbally, for publication, any fact ascertained, which if known to the enemy, might be injurious to the Confederate States of America."Condition: Flattened folds and toning. Some wear, and a small chip affecting the printed border, but not any text. Bit of dampstaining at top right corner.
