Description

Confederate General Joseph E. Johnston Autograph Letter Signed. Two pages of a bifolium, 5" x 8"; Washington; May 4, 1886. A letter to former Governor of Georgia, Joseph Brown, citing his rheumatism for the delay in writing. In part: "It will give me great pleasure to use the pass you so kindly sent. It would be a great pleasure to me to go over your road at my leisure. A still greater one to visit Atlanta and see my friends there. Especially the Browns..." Written on pages one and four, making it ideal for display.

Condition: Very clean with flattened folds.
