William Howard Taft: "Billy Opossum" Creamer. 6" long. The realistically painted china creamer, in the shape of an opossum, has "Souvenir Washington" painted in gold on one side. There was an effort to link the opossum with William Howard Taft, just as Theodore Roosevelt was linked in the public mind with the Teddy Bear. Very fine.Auction Info
