Description
U.S. Model 1855 Brass Mounted Two Band .58 Caliber Percussion Rifle, Harpers Ferry, 1858In untouched condition, all iron displaying a smooth dark patina with minor surface roughness around the breech. Lock marked "US Harpers Ferry 1858" with eagle-stamped tape primer door. Barrel with corresponding date 1858. Tight crisp action, clear numbers and lettering. Brass fittings with a matching pleasing patina. The wood is very good with some scattered minor dents and scratches, visible inspectors cartouche. Complete with its original ramrod and leather sling which exhibits moderate wear. A very nice totally correct example of the desirable US military longarm.
