Description
U.S. Model 1855 Iron Mounted Two Band .58 Caliber Percussion Rifle, Harpers Ferry, 1861 Gun is in fine condition with metal smooth and bright / gray. The lock exhibits the sharp markings "Harpers Ferry", "1861" with perfect eagle stamped on the tape primer door. Mechanically perfect. The barrel devoid of markings. Wood very good with a few scattered dents, dark staining at the butt plate and a tight crack at the forward lock screw. Visible inspectors cartouches on the left side of the stock. Ramrod shows a few repairs. Nice honest example of this very scarce U.S. military longarm.Auction Info
