Description

U.S. Model 1836 .54 Caliber Flintlock Pistol, A. Waters 1843 In standard configuration, the lock stamped with eaglehead, "A.Waters Milbury, MS 1843" along with "US / J.H./P." at the breech and visible inspectors cartouche at the sideplate. Barrel has aged to a mostly smooth gray patina mixing with dark coloring and minor pitting at the breech. The lock is smooth and dark with minor pitting at the pan and tight crisp action. Appears to be in its original flint configuration. Remainder of the metal is smooth and dark with the exception of the ramrod swivel which displays pitting. The wood features an old undisturbed surface along with a crack at the rear side plate screw, three carved initials behind the sideplate and scattered bruises. A nice example of an untouched pistol in its original flintlock configuration.
