Description
Quarter Plate Daguerreotype: Portrait of a Young Man, Circa 1853. Superb quality, pristine condition, untouched/uncleaned with the original seal intact. Housed in an unusual black leather case with gilt embossed decoration including a spray of flowers on the front cover. Hinge neatly repaired, else about perfect. The most unusual detail is the hand embroidered, faux jewel studded, custom storage case in which the image was found. Wonderful piece of folk art in excellent condition and unique in our experience. Case is lined with plaid silk. Great presentation and a very nice image.Auction Info
