Description

Grover Cleveland Autograph Letter Signed. One page, 8" x 10.5", no place; January 6, 1891. Addressed to a Daniel S. Resmeen on Bangs, Steson, Tracy & MacVeagh letterhead. Written by Cleveland in between his presidential terms while practicing law. It reads, in part:

"...When I was Governor of the State I was a great stickler for obedience to the constitutional requirements providing state confirmation should be...under general laws. I still believe they should be so formed unless substantial reasons can be presented for a special act. I hardly think I should be in my office after today; but I should be glad to see you here Monday of next week if you desire to confer with me..." Signed, "Grover Cleveland."

Condition: Mounting strip along one margin on verso. Two closed tears have been professionally repaired. .75" and .25" closed tears along right side. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
