Description

David G. Burnet Signed Republic of Texas Bond. One partially printed page, 9.75" x 7.5", Austin, Texas; January 1, 1841. A $500 bond, issued to Charles De Morse. At this time Burnet was Acting President of the Republic, serving in place of President Mirabeau Lamar, who was in New Orleans on medical leave.

Condition: Moderate uneven toning, with flattened folds. Splitting along folds and some paper loss on coupon portion. Light dampstaining and foxing. Chipping at the edges. Repairs made with paper and wax on verso.
