Description
Sir Isaac Heard Signed Procession Pass for Lord Horatio Nelson's Funeral. One partially printed page, 10.5" x 7.25" (sight), no place; no date [circa December 1805 - January 1806]. Beautifully engraved untrimmed procession pass No. 240 admitting Captain William Waller R.N. into "the Procession from the Admiralty to St. Paul's Cathedral." Signed, "Isaac Heard Garter." Heard was the Garter King of Arms and responsible for organizing the ceremonial aspects of the national hero's funeral. Black mourning seal is affixed at the lower right. It has been framed to the overall size of 11.25" x 8". Not examined outside of the frame.Condition: Light scattered soiling. Offsetting from seal. Creased along folds.
