Charles Lindbergh Signed Copy of The Spirit of St. Louis. New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1953. 8vo. [viii], 562 pages. With appendix. Map, diagrams, and photographs at back of volume. Blue cloth covered boards. Inscribed by the author on the title page, "To Archibald V. Galbraith / With best wishes, Charles A. Lindbergh." The end papers are illustrated with a reproduction of Burnell Poole's aquatint, The Epic of the Air. Lindbergh won the Pulitzer Prize in 1954 for this book about his 1927 transatlantic solo flight.

Accompanying the book is an Anne Morrow Lindbergh Typed Letter Signed, "Anne M. Lindbergh." One page, 8.5" x 11", Darien, Connecticut; January 13, 1982. Mrs. Lindbergh responds to a letter from Dr. Alfred J. Kaiser, who had inquired about the book's inscription. She writes, in part: "I am personally very pleased that you acquired the book, but unfortunately I can give you no further information regarding the inscription or my husband's association with Mr. Galbraith. My family, of course, has always had a connection with Smith College and Amherst College. None of my sons went to school at Williston, although my youngest son was a year at Amherst College and then transferred to Oxford."

Condition: Spine is lightly sunned. Top and bottom of spine show wear, with bumped corners. The letter has flattened folds, else good.
