John Sullivan Partial Autograph Document Signed. One page, 7 x 7 1/2 inches; no place; no date. Last page of a legal response by John Sullivan on behalf of his client, defendant John Layn, in part: "...he the said Emerson with force & arms of his own wrong & without any such cause...alleged made an assault upon him the said Layn & him the said Layn he the said Emerson did then, & there Beat wound & evilly treat in manner & form as the said Layn hath in his said Declaration alleged and this he prays may be enquired of by the Country." Signed at conclusion, "Jno Sullivan."Condition: Light even toning with flattened folds. Small ink stain and pencil notation at bottom left margin of recto. Three small areas of adhesive remnant along the right margin of verso.
