[Revolutionary War Newspaper]. The Pennsylvania Packet. Four pages, 10 x 16 inches. Philadelphia: John Dunlap. February 1, 1780. Unpaginated and printed in three columns. Founded in 1771, The Pennsylvania Packet was an American newspaper that later became the first successful daily publication in the United States. This issue includes a report on page three recounting a raid led by Captain Samuel Lockwood of Greenwich, Connecticut, who, "with a few continental troops, and some militia," captured twenty British prisoners. Page four features a list of deserters from the Continental Army.

Condition: Lightly toned with smoothed folds and stray creasing. Some edgewear (resulting in minor chipping), not affecting text.
