Description

Pierre-Auguste Renoir Photographic Print Signed "Renoir." 5.5" x 10.75", Cagnes, Alpes Maritimes; January 10, 1911. A black and white print reproduction of one of Renoir's artworks, depicting a young girl in the middle of a crowd. Signed in the bottom margin. Below Renoir's signature is a certification stating that "Pierre Auguste Renoir artiste-peintre" signed this note, January 10, 1911. The seal of Cagnes, Alpes Maritimes, is to the lower left of the Mayor's signature. Mounted and framed to an overall size of 15.5" x 19".

Renoir had moved to Cagnes-sur-mer, France in 1908, after buying the estate of Les Collettes. He painted at this estate for the last ten years of his life, despite suffering increasingly from arthritis. The views from his new home, with a rolling countryside and colorful orange and olive tree groves, greatly influenced his later works.

Condition: Light wear and bumping to the corners of the print. Slight fading to the stamped seal.
