Description
Pierre Auguste Renoir Autograph Letter Signed. One page of a bifolium, 4.5" x 7"; no place; "Tuesday." A letter addressed to "My dear friend," sending news that his wife is in poor health. Written in French, with an English translation. "It's quiet and nothing is getting better. My wife is not very well and above all, I think she is nervous. She writes to me that the doctor forbids her from moving. I can't really go back to Burgundy to see her myself and I'm very annoyed. And your letter this morning which shows me how nice you are, I made you work hard and I seem not to worry about it..." Signed, "Renoir."Condition: Usual mail folds, with light creasing. Soiling to verso of integral blank.
