Description

Daniel Webster Autograph Letter Signed. One page, 7.75" x 7.5" (sight), Washington, April 16, no year. Addressed to a Henry W. Kiensman of Boston, Webster informs him that he has recovered from a recent illness and will return to the Senate to hear the Indian Debate. It reads in part: "I am just well enough to come to the Senate, & hear the Indian Debate. My cold is going off, but it has left me very weak considering its duration has been but a fortnight..." Signed, "D.W." with free franked integral address leaf. It is matted and framed with an engraving of Webster to the overall size of 25.75" x 14". Not examined outside of the frame.

Condition: Minor soiling in a few places, which does not affect text. Two small areas of loss at intersection of folds which doesn't touch any text. Dampstaining along left edge of engraving.
