Description

Millard Fillmore Signed Copy of Incidents of Travel in Egypt, Arabia Petraea and the Holy Land by John L. Stephens. New York: Harper & Brothers, 1860. Two volumes. 8vo. Original dark brown pebbled leather, spine stamped in gilt, covers stamped in blind. Illustrated, with an engraved fold-out map, "Egypt, Arabia Petraea, and the Holy Land," measuring 7 3/4 x 12 1/2 inches.

From Millard Fillmore's personal library. The President signs the First Lady's name four times, on the front pastedowns and title pages of each volume, "Mrs. Caroline C. Fillmore, March 20, 1862."

Condition: Minor wear to bindings, including a few small chips or scuffs. Textblock lightly toned; light, scattered foxing throughout; two leaves left untrimmed and folded to prevent overlong margins.
