Address panel penned entirely in Jefferson's hand to "Mr. Joseph Rapin / South side of Market Street / between 3d. & 4th. Streets / Philadelphia." Signed at the upper left, "Free / Th: Jefferson Pr. It is matted and framed with an engraved reproduction of Rembrandt Peale's portrait of Jefferson to the overall size of 10.5" x 15.5". Not examined outside of the frame. Provenance included with the envelope is an invoice from Bauman Rare Books.
