This typewriter belonged to famed Hollywood couple, José Ferrer and Rosemary Clooney. Ferrer, an actor and director whose career spanned more than six decades, won numerous awards for his performances. In addition to his 1950 Academy Award for Best Actor for his portrayal of Cyrano de Bergerac, he also received two Tony Awards and one Golden Globe. Clooney, for her part, was an accomplished singer, jazz vocalist, and actress. Her accolades include a 1995 Primetime Emmy Award nomination and the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.

Ferrer and Clooney had a tumultuous relationship. The pair first married in 1953 and divorced in 1961. Three years later, Ferrer and Clooney remarried. This second attempt did not last long, as Ferrer began an affair with Stella Magee shortly thereafter. Ferrer and Clooney permanently separated in 1967. The pair owned this typewriter during their time together. Monsita Ferrer, the couple's daughter, authorized this machine to be included in The Collection. Accompanied by related ephemera.
