Description
Daniel Boone Signature Mounted Beneath Two Additional Lines of His Handwriting. Signature measures 2 x ½ inch, and the slip with two lines of text measures 6 x 1 inches. Signature "D Boone" is in two pieces, with the "D" being a separate fragment. They are possibly cut from different exemplars. The accompanying text, all in Boone's hand, reads, "Will be all Clear Except fore or / five hundred acres." Both are mounted to a board, 11 ¼ x 13 ¾. An exceptionally scarce signature, desirable in any format.Condition: Age toning and foxing. Slip has a vertical fold. The board has mat burn from previous framing.
