Description
John Morton Docket Signed on Verso of a Document Issued Under the Reign of George III. Single sheet, 13.5" x 8.75"; Chester County; May 30, 1767. The document states that "Davis Bevan... haith recovere his seisin against David Cowpland of one messuage Eighty acres of arable land..." The document directs the county sheriff to "cause the said Davis Bevan as to have compleat seisin of the said tenements ..." Signed by William Parker.Morton signs a docket on the verso attesting that he has seized "the premises within mentioned to be delivered to the said Davis Bevan."
Condition: Professionally restored; the back of the document has been lined with archival tissue adding paper along most of the top of the document, and leaving the area containing Morton's signed docket exposed, with a line of archival traversing all lines of the docket, and tissue added at corner. With blind embossed seal on front. Expertly repaired, document remains attractive and highly displayable.
