Publisher's beige linen, spine stamped in metallic red; original illustrated dust jacket by J. J. Fox. Head and foot of spine just pushed. White endpapers; small penciled bookseller notations (some effaced) to the front endpapers. Internally clean and tight, all edges trimmed; minor text block edgewear. Dust jacket unclipped ($4.95); very minor edgewear, spine lightly sunned. Fine book with near fine or better dust jacket.

Source material for the 1971 American film by the same name, directed by Peter Bogdanovich and additionally co-written by Bogdanovich in collaboration with the author. The film was a critical and commercial success, garnering eight Academy Award nominations, of which it won two, and was heavily recognized by other film critic organizations. It was selected in 1998 for preservation by the National Film Registry of the Library of Congress.
