D. H. Lawrence. The Paintings of D. H. Lawrence. London: The Mandrake Press, [1929]. First edition. Limited to 10 special copies on Japanese vellum, from a total edition of 510, "This is out of Series." Large quarto. Unpaginated. Illustrated with 26 color plates. Publisher's full vellum, front board ruled and stamped in gilt, spine lettered in gilt. Cream-colored endpapers, all edges gilt."It will be seen that some special copies were 'out of series' as was the case with the copy described here from the library of Mr. George Lazarus" (Roberts). The present example is also out of series.
Condition: Minor wear and staining to boards, corners bumped. Internally clean and tight. Near fine.
