John Steinbeck. The Log from the Sea of Cortez. New York: The Viking Press, 1951.8vo. Publisher's maroon cloth gilt; original illustrated dust jacket.
Second edition, with a new title. First published as The Sea of Cortez in 1941, this is the first separate issue of the "Log", and the first appearance of "About Ed Ricketts," a great friend of Steinbeck who was killed when a train hit his car in 1948.
Condition: Dust jacket price clipped; spine sunned; small paper loss on spine panel, not affecting text.
