Description
Agatha Christie. A Murder is Announced. London: Crime Club, Collins, [1950]. First edition. Signed and inscribed by the author to the front free endpaper recto, "With love from / Agatha / June 1950." Octavo. 256 pages. Publisher's orange cloth, spine lettered in black; married dust jacket. First serialized in The Daily Express (UK, 1950) and the Chicago Tribune (US, 1950). Greenway House copy.Condition: Corners bumped, minor edgewear, head and foot of spine pushed, spine sunned, somewhat rubbed and soiled. Cream endpapers; a few pinpoint spots of soiling, miniscule purple ink stamp to the rear pastedown. Internally clean and tight; text block lightly toned, minor scattered soiling, text block edges toned with minor wear and soiling. Dust jacket unclipped with original 8s 6d price visible under a later price sticker on the front flap; minor edgewear, chipping to head and foot of spine and corners, creased along folds, somewhat rubbed. Very good book and dust jacket.
