Description
A T. S. Eliot Family Collection.
Material passed down to Eliot's great-niece, Priscilla Talcott Spahn (née Priscilla Stearns Talcott), the last living relative to have a personal relationship with the author.
[Thomas Stearns Eliot]. Collection of Family Photographs of T.
S. Eliot. [Various places (mainly in the United States): circa
1890-1965]. Original photographs, including ten early-childhood
cabinet cards, and over a dozen portraiture photographs, including
three contemporary prints of an Elliott & Fry portrait, with the
original folder, a press print from Eliot's funeral, and numerous
later reproductions with several duplicates from throughout his
life. Various sizes, from approximately 3 x 5 inches up to
approximately 12.5 x 8 inches. All in black and white. Also
included are about twenty small negatives. Mainly loose, some are
mounted. Several duplicates. Despite some toning and edgewear, the
photos are in generally very good condition. A fascinating
collection of photographs that show an unusual side of Eliot's
life. From a T. S. Eliot Family Collection.
