Franz Kafka. Two editions in English of The Trial.The Trial. Translated by Willa and Edwin Muir. London: Victor Gollancz Ltd, 1937. 8vo. Publisher's blue cloth, spine stamped in blue. FIRST EDITION IN ENGLISH. Condition: Spine sunned; pale lightening to boards at edges; a few bumps; some minor over-opening throughout; pale spotting to text, generally confined to preliminaries or margins.
The Trial. Translated from the German by Willa and Edwin Muir. New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1937. 8vo. Illustrated by Georg Salter. Publisher's orange cloth, pictorially stamped in gray and black; original illustrated dust jacket. FIRST AMERICAN EDITION. Condition: Spine leaned; light edgewear. Dust jacket unclipped (priced "$2.50 net"); spine sunned; light toning; edgewear with some chips and short tears; a few spots.
