With a small autograph note signed by Hemingway taped to the front free endpaper, "To Ernest K. Sebwartz / with best wishes / Ernest Hemingway / 17/2/60." Octavo. [x], 471, [1, blank] pages. Publisher's light brown buckram, front board with facsimile of Hemingway's signature stamped in black, spine stamped in red and black. Publisher's dust jacket. Light rubbing to binding, lower corner of front board bumped, some soiling to tape, note, and front free endpaper near tape, left margin of signed note a bit creased, some offsetting to rear endleaves. Jacket spine sunned and chipped, some wear, chipping, and a few tears to jacket. A near fine copy in a very good jacket.

[Together with:] Another copy with laid-in signature (clipped signature is approximately .75 x 4 inches; 24 x 100 mm.). Mild rubbing to cloth binding. Jacket spine mildly sunned, some minor rubbing, edgewear to jacket. Mild foxing to notebook leaf, barely affecting the clipped signature. Near fine.
