FIRST EDITION of Hawthorne's second book, and the first to bear his name, published in an edition of 1,000 copies. This important collection includes eighteen tales formerly published in magazines and periodicals (hence "Twice-Told"), and included several works, such as "The Minister's Black Veil," "The May-Pole of Merry Mount," and "Wakefield," which became a vital part of the American literary canon.
