FIRST EDITION of the author's first novel. PRESENTATION COPY, INSCRIBED BY THE AUTHOR TO J. C. DYKES on the frontispiece: "For J. C. Dykes / Tom Lea." J. C. Dykes wrote extensively on the West and is the author of Billy the Kid: The Bibliography of a Legend (1952). With laid in promotional material promoting orders for this title from McMurray's Bookshop, Dallas. Dust jacket price clipped (with stamped price "3.00" beside), and with a short closed tear on rear panel, otherwise very fine.
