FIRST EDITION, FIRST PRINTING. PRESENTATION COPY, INSCRIBED BY THE AUTHOR in pencil on the Acknowledgements page: "To Bill Ewert / "I rhyme / To see myself, to set the / darkness echoing." / Seamus Heaney / 12 March 1994." First printing with the nine-point violet sun symbol on the front wrapper.

William "Bill" B. Ewert (1943-2001) established William B. Ewert Publications in 1978. He published limited edition poetry books, broadsides, and cards until his death in 2001. He published a number of Heaney chapbooks and broadsides, among them Mint (1991), Iron Spike (1992) Keeping Going (1993), and Poet's Chair (1993).

Condition: Touch of soiling and edgewear; else, fine.
